December Spring Street Swingout
Join us for some holiday joy! Our December Spring Street Swingout will feature a free beginnner lesson 6-7 pm, followed by a holiday DJ dance featuring swingbands from the 20’s through today. All ages and skill levels are welcome - no partner required.
Location: 212 Spring Street, Nevada City
Cost: $10 ($5 students)
Cash bar featuring Nevada City Winery and Brewbilt Brewery available for 21 and older, OK to bring food into the venue. Remote ordering/take out orders are available from nearby Brewbilt Brewhaus.
🌟January: Beginner East Coast Swing/6-count Lindy Hop
Mondays in January | 5:30–6:30 PM + Practice 6:30–7:00 PM
Cost: $60 for the full 4-week series (must pay in advance)
Kick off the new year with the basics! This series is perfect for total beginners or anyone wanting to build confidence on the dance floor. We’ll explore 6-count footwork, connection, and a variety of beginner-friendly moves to get you social-dance ready. No partner required.

✨ NEW! Thursday Drop-In Practice Sessions

Drop-in $5 | Informal | No partner required
We’re also launching weekly practice sessions—no formal instruction, no pressure, just dancing! This is a great space to practice moves you’ve learned, experiment with new ideas, or get friendly pointers from other dancers. Expect a fun mix of experience levels.
January Spring Street Swing Out
Swing out to the classic swing tunes of the Fred Morgan BIG Band: 18 band members including 5 saxes, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, vocals, guitar, piano, bass and drums. All ages welcome, no partner or prior dancing skills required. Beginner lesson 6-7, live music 7-9:30. $15 ($10 students)
Cash bar featuring Nevada City Winery and Brewbilt brews are available for 21 and up.
🌟February: Basic Lindy Hop
Mondays in February | 5:30–6:30 PM + Practice 6:30–7:00 PM
Cost: $60 for the full 4-week series
Ready to level up? We’ll start with a quick refresher on 6-count steps, then dive into classic 8-count Lindy Hop: Lindy circles, swing outs, and playful variations. Prior dance experience is recommended, but not necessary. No partner required.

🌟 March: Charleston Fundamentals
First 4 Mondays in March | 5:30–6:30 PM + Practice 6:30–7:00 PM
Cost: $60 for the full 4-week series
Immerse yourself in another fun 8-count style! You'll learn side-by-side and tandem Charleston, how to transition in and out of Charleston, and a handful of dynamic variations. Great for adding flair to your Lindy Hop or solo dance. No partner required.

Hank plays genuine, original rockabilly and swing tunes in a style that harkens back to the era of Carl Perkins, Joe Turner and Bill Halley and His Comets. The Hank Biggs Band features guitar, upright bass, drums, piano and sax. Hank has played and sang in many genres, including bluegrass, western-swing and R&B, to name just a few. If you like a little rock n roll in your swing, then you’ll love the Hank Biggs Band.

Beginning Lindy Hop
This 4-week Beginning Lindy Hop class is intended for those with no prior dance experience, or for dancers who want to become reacquainted with lindy hop basic footwork to swingouts.
When: Monday 6:30-8:00 pm (9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29)
Where: Center Stage Dance Studio 121 Joerschke Drive, Grass Valley
Format: 1 hour of lessons, followed by 30 minutes of practice
